Beyoncé Announces She’s Building a Hemp and Honey Farm

In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Beyoncé became the latest celebrity to tout the benefits of CBD, stating that she takes cannabidiol for soreness, inflammation and insomnia. She also announced she’s building a hemp and honey farm.

In the Harper’s Bazaar interview, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter said she discovered CBD on her last tour and experienced its benefits for soreness and inflammation. “It helped with my restless nights and the agitation that comes from not being able to fall asleep,” she told the magazine.

“I found healing properties in honey that benefit me and my children. And now I’m building a hemp and a honey farm. I’ve even got hives on my roof! And I’m so happy that my daughters will have the example of those rituals from me,” Beyoncé said in the interview.

Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z launched a cannabis line named Monogram last year, partnering with California cannabis company Caliva. Jay-Z joined the company in 2019 as the chief brand strategist.

“It’s good to see that more and more celebrities are not only endorsing CBD products but are creating their own,” said Dr. Harry Behzadi, AccuScience Labs President and CEO. “It brings great awareness to the benefits of CBD-infused products to an audience who might not otherwise hear about it.”

The Carters aren’t the only celebrities in the news recently for their marijuana-based businesses.

Former boxing champion Mike Tyson owns “Tyson Ranch,” his own marijuana strain company, and recently launched his CBD brand named CopperGel, which includes roll-on relief items.

Taking things one step further, Tyson is also developing an appropriately sized 420-acre cannabis resort near Desert Hot Springs in Southern California, which is about a 2-hour drive from Los Angeles.

The resort is slated to include a hotel, spas, lodging, a glamping park and a lazy river snaking around the entire park as a means of getting around. There are also plans to host annual marijuana conferences and music festivals, in addition to “Tyson University” which is rumored to host degree-style courses on agriculture for prospective cannabis farmers.

According to GQ Magazine, here are the proposed plans for the luxury marijuana resort:

Forbes Magazine reported that COVID had slowed the construction on the resort. However, further news about the project should be released later this year.

“Cannabis is the future, and eventually, everyone is going to have to give in,” said Tyson in a 2018 interview with Cannabis & Tech Today.
